The Ape

James Franco's bizarre and funny directorial debut pits man against beast in the harrowing wilds...of a New York City apartment. Harry Walker (Franco) is trying to write a novel, and finds a new place away from his family to finally get some time alone. But he discovers that his new places comes with a roommate: a talking, Hawaiian-shirt clad gorilla is living in his midst. Despite the added distractions of lice, "gorilla wet willies" and flying excrement, The Ape pushes Harry to fulfill his dreams, but the ultimate cost may prove to be more than any novelist could conceive.
