In 1967, the war in Algeria is coming to end and the free-spirited Adda illegally enters France to start a new life with her two sons at 17 Rue Bleue, all financed by her wealthy, married lover. When her lover suddenly dies, Adda and her boys are left with nothing and she decides to fight for his money for the sake of her family's future. Obsessed by the idea that a fortune is within her reach, she sets off on a downward spiral of despair and eventually becomes addicted to prescription medications, alienating her family and losing the peace and stability she so desperately sought.
