Jack Mosley, is a burnt-out NYPD detective assigned the unenviable task of transporting a convict from jail to the courthouse 16 blocks away. He along the way learns that the man is supposed to testify against Mosley's NYPD colleagues, who are corrupt and want the convict silenced. Mosley must now choose between loyalty to his colleagues and his duty to protect the witness. Never has such a short distance seemed so long.
