"A moving and subtle arthouse film with strong appeal." -- urbancinefile.com
Rousing, romantic storytelling set against the backdrop of the Second World War as Dorothy (Lisa Hensley), raising her three young children on a remote Australian farm, awaits her soldier-husband's return. Their fragile domestic calm is shaken by the arrival of Alfredo (Steve Bastoni) and Joseph (Domenic Galati), Italian POWs sent to help with the farm's upkeep. Dorothy’s loneliness gets the best of her, and she and Alfredo fall in love. When a pair of German refugees -- a mother and her daughter, Rachel (Tara Jakszewicz) -- arrive, matters get further complicated after Rachel falls for Joseph. And, with the war waning, Dorothy finds herself faced with a new war: The one over the future of her home and heart.
