Jaman and Fortissimo Films to Bring Premium Asian Films to the Internet

Definitive Works from Notable Directors Including Shunji Iwai (Japan), Oxide and Danny Pang (Hong Kong), Clara Law (Hong Kong), Hur Jin-ho (South Korea),and Tian Zhuangahuang (China) to Premiere Online on Jaman.com

TORONTO, September 10, 2007 - Jaman.com, the leading online community for films and fans from around the world, announced today the completion of a multi-picture deal with Fortissimo Films negotiated by Jaman Vice President of Worldwide Programming, Kathleen Powell, and Fortissimo Co-chairman, Michael J Werner. The deal marks Fortissimo's first move into video-on-demand via internet universe in North America.

Under the agreement, the definitive works of some of the world's top filmmakers will be available, via Jaman's online community that delivers feature-length international and independent films in hi-def quality directly to viewers worldwide.

The multi-picture deal establishes Jaman as the service with the largest internet collection of festival awarding winning films from Asia. Titles include:

  • Four titles from Japanese director, writer and documentarian Shunji Iwai with the films All About Lily Chou Chou, April Story, Fireworks, and Fried Dragonfish
  • The powerhouse team of twin brothers Danny and Oxide Pang's first co-written/co-directed film Bangkok Dangerous. While born in Hong Kong, they frequently work in the Thai film industry.
  • Clara Law's Autumn Moon
  • South Korean director Hur Jin-ho's Christmas in August
  • Chinese director and producer Tian Zhuangahuang's Delamu
  • Oscar® nominated Russian filmmaker, writer, producer and director Sergei Bodrov's Bears Kiss
  • Sixth Generation Chinese filmmaker Shi Runjiu's All The Way and Beautiful New World
  • Dutch screenwriter, film director, actor and painter Alex van Warmerdam's The Dress
  • Australian film director Tony Krawitz's film Jewboy
  • South Korean Ki Yong Park's Motel Cactus
  • China's Jianxin Huang's The Marriage Certificate
  • German director Andreas Struck's Chill Out
  • Ineke Smits' Magonia
  • Chinese director Xiaoshuai Wang's So Close To Paradise
  • Taiwan director Tso-chi Chang's multiple award winning film The Best of Times
  • Iikka Jarvi-Laturi's Darkness in Tallinn
