Hi: I have a purchased movie. I am able to play it fine on my home laptop. I was trying to watch it on my secondary Laptop, but I have been completely Unsuccessful in doing so. I'm logged in with the correct account, but it keeps giving me the error "Unknown Jaman user, please login as the user who purchased this movie".
Does anyone know the resolution to this problem or faced similar issues? There is nothing wrong at my end that I can think of. I have also "authorized" this laptop for playback. The only thing I have not tried is "de-authorize" the home laptop. However, I would hope that I would be able to watch the movie on more than 1 machine?
I am using the latest player on both of my machines. I did not have Jaman on my second laptop, so that one has never had the previous version of player on it. I'm not sure what the issue is. I have not tried today. Even though I'm logged in as "folkpoet80" on the 2nd laptop > have authorized the playback, it says login as the user who purchased the movie :)
Thanks for answering my questions. I'm forwarding these details to the Engineering Team so that they can begin to narrow down the issues that may be preventing the screening of your film on the second laptop.
Could you let us know which film you bought on laptop #1 but were unable to watch on laptop #2? We'd like to rule out the possibility that the film itself is at the source of the problem.
I think the mystery has finally been solved. Approximately one year ago, you rented the film "Death of a Doctor" and did not purchase it. Naturally, the rental license ended quite some time ago. (I'm afraid the error message you got was misleading in this case.)
So, the film in question must be first purchased to be able to watch it on whichever computer the Jaman Player is authorized to do so.
I don't believe that's a correct diagnosis. I did purchase the movie and have been successfully watching it on my primary laptop (just watched 35 mins of it a week ago).
I want to verify whether you purchased this movie from Jaman -- is there a possibility that it was purchased elsewhere? In that case, you would be able to view it through the Jaman Player on the laptop where the file is housed.
Based on our records, you have a series of movie rentals with Jaman. However, I'm going to check with our Engineering Team to dig deeper into this issue.
I'll look forward to hearing back from you . . . .
Yes I bought it from Jaman. For your reference, I have taken a screen-shot of my Jaman player while signed into my account and uploaded a screen-shot on my website. Check out at:
OK, twist in the story!!! I just found out that I actually bought this movie under my this account "gatturaje". I logged in as gatturaje on this secondary laptop and now it is working!!!
However, what is weird that I was logged in as "folkpoet80" on my other laptop was still able to watch the movie. In any case, consider the case closed and ask your engineering team to relax :)
Our Engineering Team suspected more recently the same issue that you pointed out above, two Jaman accounts affiliated under your name.
The original error message that you got, "Unknown Jaman user, please login as the user who purchased this movie," was correct in that you were being prompted to sign in as gatturaje, not folkpoet80, to access this purchased film.
In the end, we're glad that you are finally able to watch this film!
