Really happy to be able to catch up on the old Shaw Brothers films. I am a sucker for the elaborate sets and wild melodramatics! So far I've checked out CRIMSON CHARM, THE THUNDERING SWORD, THE SILVER FOX, TALES OF A EUNUCH, TEMPLE OF THE RED LOTUS, BIG BROTHER CHENG, and THE DUEL. Got to see a young Sammo Hung in the background of CRIMSON CHARM.
What have you seen? Any favourites? Recomendations? Chime in!

I only watched Shaolin Prince thus far. I'm really stoked though. it's amazing. A few clicks. and bang, instant kung-fu (insert day of week)

Just joined. I'm downloading Shaolin Prince. Haven't seen this one. Atleast I don't think I have. Really looking forward to it. Can't wait to see them all. I got some I may need to upload.

14 AMAZONS is the biggest Shaw production ever and is highly recommended even if the Celestial version is cut it still delivers the gory goods. DRAGON SWAMP is also nice especially the beautiful set design. Lo Wei surprised me with his really well put together Shaw films compared to his hack work he would later produce for Golden Harvest. The first two SENTIMENTAL SWORDSMAN films are also very good. RETURN OF THE BASTARD SWORDSMAN is fun although it's odd the first film isn't here. SHAOLIN PRINCE also and its pseudo sequel SHAOLIN INTRUDERS is even better(not sure if that one is here or not.)

On this site, I've only viewed BLACK MAGIC 2 as its the only one listed that hasn't gotten a release from Celestial thus far. It was supposed to come out 2 years ago but was pulled. Supposedly it will see release later this year. And since the Shaw horror titles have since become VCD only releases, the quality suffers.

I love BLACK MAGIC 2, mind you I have only seen it in the English dubbed version as REVENGE OF THE ZOMBIES and my copy was taped off TV from the mid-eighties and cut! Can't wait to see the saucy bits that they snipped out!

I must thoroughly recommend "Invincible Shaolin" starring the 5 venoms (actually 6).
This is a top notch film, good acting, incredible fighting skills and even some comedic light moments.
It is also one of the best Shaolin movies that I have ever seen.

I have a wicked collection of classic Shaw Brothers films, from 1966-2003. I have Jimmy Wang Yu, Lo Lieh, Chang Yi,
Ti Lung, David Chiang, Chen Kwan Tai, The Venoms; you name it, and I either have it, or have seen it!!!
