How do I know whether Jaman will work on my computer?
---To test whether you will have a seamless viewing experience on Jaman, it’s an excellent idea to try streaming a free short clip available on the site. Choose a free movie trailer; for example, try watching the trailer for I am Legend (http://www.jaman.com/movie/Am-Legend-Trailer/0nKO7pNldJmE/). If the trailer executes successfully, then it’s safe to assume that the technology on your end, from bandwidth to laptop, is all set for Jaman.
How do I start using Jaman?
---Follow these simple steps to get started:
- From the home page, or “My Jaman” or “What is Jaman?” tab at the top, register with the site by filling out a short form to create an account. You will be asked to choose a username and password for Jaman.
- Complete your registration by following the link in the confirmation email Jaman sends you.
- Find a movie you want to watch and click the “Rent It” button. As a new user, you will automatically get to use a free rental ticket.
- If you have not downloaded the Jaman Player yet, the download process will now begin. The Player is required to play movies on Jaman.
Once installation of the Player is completed, the movie itself will begin downloading and be ready to watch in moments.

How do I redeem my free Jaman movie ticket?
---When you first sign up with Jaman, a free ticket is ready and waiting. Once you've downloaded the Jaman Player, the free ticket will automatically be used when you click “Rent It” to see the movie you’ve chosen.
I’ve used free tickets to download movies on Jaman. Is it possible to get more?
---Inviting your friends to join the Jaman community is a great way for you to earn free rental tickets. To extend an invitation, look for the link “Invite Your Friends” at the very top of every page or “Invite your friends to Jaman” under the “My Jaman” tab. When a friend accepts the invitation you’ve sent them, you automatically receive an additional rental ticket in your account!
I am searching for free movies to watch on Jaman – how can I find them?
---First, click the “Movies” tab and then the “Free Movies” link at the top to see a selection of movies you may screen for free in your region.
How do I search for a film title to see if the Jaman library has a particular movie I’m looking for?
---The fastest way to check whether Jaman has the movie you want to see is by entering the title in the search box at the top. You will immediately see if that movie is rentable through Jaman, plus all the member discussions associated with this film title.
If you use an RSS reader, like Google Reader, you can also subscribe to the RSS feed found on the New Arrivals page --- see the “New Arrivals” link under the “Movies” tab.
How do I change my profile picture on Jaman?
---To change the profile picture:
- Select the “My Jaman” tab at the top.
- To the right of your current photo at the top, click on the link “Change Your Picture.”
- Click the “Upload Your Picture” button. (Or click the link for “or choose one of ours” if you want one of our pictures.)
- In the “Upload your picture” pop-up, click the Browse button.
Then, go through your files to find the graphics file you’d like to use for your image.
- Click the “Upload” button.
- You now have the chance to crop or expand the dimensions of the image to fit the square parameters of your profile picture.
- Click the “Save My Picture” button.
You now have a new picture associated with your Jaman profile!
How do I stop receiving the newsletter and other types of email announcements from Jaman?
---Unless you’ve indicated otherwise, the default setting on Jaman for each member’s profile is to send emails regarding (1) the weekly Jaman newsletter to announce the fresh batch of films being released through the site, (2) personal messages from other Jaman members, (3) activity notifications and (4) system notifications.
To unsubscribe from the newsletter or stop receiving any other category of email from Jaman, edit your Email Settings under Account & Settings:
- Click “Account” link at the top right corner of any Jaman page.
- In the Email Settings box, click on the “Edit” button.
- Uncheck the boxes for the types of emails you no longer wish to receive.
Whenever you change your mind and want to be kept current of Jaman-related news, return to the Email Settings box and re-check the information you would like to receive again.
How do I close my Jaman account?
---Jaman is working towards making this an easy 1-2-3 process and we appreciate our members’ patience as we work towards that goal.
If you’d like to close your account, please email support@jaman.com and request that your account be deleted. Also include your Jaman username in this email. If you happen to use a username and email not affiliated with your Jaman account, this will delay the cancellation process.
As Jaman continues to expand its cinematic offering from every corner of the world, from daring independents to popular blockbusters, always remember to stop by and check out which new titles are streaming at a Jaman screen near you.

Why can't I see a certain movie in my country?

Why is downloading speed so slow?
---To preserve audio-visual quality and deliver flawless viewing experience, the films found on Jaman are relatively large files. A fairly good connection will take approximately an hour to download a film. On the other hand, two to three hours is not unusual if your broadband service is limited. It is fine to let the movie continue downloading while your computer is in sleep mode. The good news is that you may start watching a movie before the download is completed, usually within a few minutes.
Do take into consideration the wide variation among Internet service providers. Because Jaman uses its own peer-to-peer network, your Internet provider may attempt to block or limit P2P traffic in an effort to limit piracy. If your download simply won't start, your ISP may also be blocking traffic from Jaman.
Firewalls could pose a hindrance if the download isn’t happening as quickly as expected. However, most firewall programs will allow you to set exceptions. If you suspect that your firewall is slowing things down, look under preferences for “allowed,” “exempt,” or similarly qualified list of programs.

Why isn't my movie playing properly?
---If you are hearing sounds, but not seeing any picture:
Most likely you haven’t downloaded the Jaman Player (http://www.jaman.com/download-player/). The Player is required to view movies through the site. If you're trying to use software, such as QuickTime, it won't work. Jaman relies on QuickTime, but this software alone can't play the videos.
---If the video playback is choppy on Jaman:
Your computer is probably too slow. Since Jaman movies are very high quality, certain system requirements must be met for proper playback. We suggest your computer be equipped with a minimum of 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 or 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo (or equivalent), and at least 512MB of RAM.
---If your system is running concurrent programs while you attempt to watch movies on Jaman:
Close other programs running on your computer because even automatic virus scans can bog down slower systems.

The Jaman Player was working fine and then it suddenly started crashing. What could be causing this?
---There was an update to Internet Explorer that was causing the Jaman Player to crash. This issue has already been resolved but if you’re still experiencing this type of problem, make sure you have the most current version of Internet Explorer.
May I burn DVDs of Jaman films to watch on my DVD player?
Movie viewers frequently ask about burning DVDs from Jaman because they’d like to indulge in the big screen experience. Even though it is currently not possible to burn DVDs from Jaman, you may translate movies from the site to the big screen. The solution is to get Jaman directly plugged into your television: Read the instructions on how to “Watch Jaman On Your TV” (http://www.jaman.com/jaman-tv/) and test the connection between your computer and the television.
Can members watch movies on Jaman with subtitles in languages other than English or closed captioning for the hearing impaired? Alternatively, is there an option to pick a dubbed audio track in a language other than English?
---Both are excellent questions and for the moment, such features are not available. However, Jaman is working towards offering them so that you may either read or hear dialogue in the language of your own preference.
I have more than one computer, and I don't know where my Jaman movies are going!
--- Click “Account” link at the top right corner of any Jaman page, which will take you to the Account & Payment Settings page. Then select the “Edit” button from the Download Settings box.
If you have more than one computer registered to your account, you will see them listed and can change to which computer the movies will be sent. You may even start a remote download from a different computer. So, while you sit in front of your computer at work, download movies at home . . . it’s called multi-tasking!
