Hi there. I am new to this site and I'm not 100% sure this is the right place for me. What I am really intersted in is downloading Hight Def movies and being able to burn them to some sort of high def media which will be Blu-Ray since HD/DVD is dead at the end of 2008. So my question is: Am I able to do this with this site or do any of you know where I can go to do this? I'm not interested in piracy. I am more than willing to pay for this type of service, in fact I would definitly prefer to pay. So any help or advice is welcome. Thanks,Rob
That's interesting, Rob. You're too eager to embrace HD, as I don't think there's any download service that will let you make a playable disc from a downloaded movie file. As far as I know, Apple is the only one delivering true HD (720p I assume) content online, and they sure as heck won't let you make a playable disc. As dumb as it is, the only ways to burn an HD movie are illegal.
Anyway, you can't burn Jaman movies, but I hope you have a look around our site. Jaman is more about having a diverse library (not Hollywood movies) than it is about technical finesse.
Hey Rob, if you're looking to play these movies on your TV -- you could just hook your computer up to your TV and launch the Jaman player. This is pretty do-able if you have a small PC or laptop, and the picture looks great!
Thanks folks. I wouldn't mind playing the movies from this site on my tv however I don't have a HD output on this comp. No, I was just interested in creating a HD library on my comp or on an external HDD and then I could have the flexibility to burn a bluray for watching on my TV or I could watch them on the comp. This would eliminate the need to buy a whole bluray library, and by only needing to burn a select few movies I could hopefully cut some of the cost. I have been reading a lot of tech articles and watching a lot of tech shows and all the experts seem to think it will go this way eventually so I was wondering if there was a way to do it yet, even if the cost was a little high ATM.Thanks,Rob
I signed on to Jaman specifically because it had an option saying i could download and OWN a movie....my plan was to burn it so I could watch it with some friends. As far as I know, OWNING means I should own more than a LICENSE, which is what I currently own if I'm dependent on a player that could, for all anyone knows, be out of business in a year. How do I own this movie if I can't convert it to a more permanent format. This site's copy is downright misleading and even though I might still have bought a movie had I known, I sure as heck wouldn't have bought one I wanted to watch with company. I'm just sick of the shoddy claims and white lies that companies make to take your money, followed by the inevitable shoddy feeling of having been ripped off--- is Jaman just purposely misleading? Yes. Is it right? NO.
