Stones vs the Beatles

You know who you are - there are those who are on the Stone camp, and those who standby the Beatles. Yes, I'm on the Stones camp and Shine a Light is now on Jaman! Shine a Light (2008) Martin Scorsese points the camera at some of the biggest stars in rock and roll history in this informative documentary chronicling the adventures of The Rolling Stones during the impressive span of their career. Combining archived footage of the band with informative interviews and rarely documented backstage shenanigans, Scorsese gives us an intimate look at why The Rolling Stones has survived for as long as they have. Featuring appearances by Bill Clinton, Jack White, Buddy Guy, and Christina Aguilera.

Mick forever - peace out. Shine A Light (2008)

I agree with you that Shine a light was a great Rolling Stones documentary, however I must admit that I'm a fan of both bands-Stones and the Beatles. It's hard for me to choose either one. If you are interested in music documentaries, may I suggest "Runnin' Down a Dream" about the history of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, of which I am a huge fan. That is, if you like Tom Petty of course. If not, it is still worth watching. Anyhow, you brought up an interesting topic, may I add.

The geniuses of The Beatles, Lennon and McCartney, inspired the genius of the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson. Who did Mick Jagger inspire?

Considering that had it not been for George Harrison the Stones never would have had their first hit, it's the Beatles hands down. Oh that and I was admin for one of their official forums and mod on another..lol. Beatles...even Mick admitted that when the Beatles would come out with a new record they would try to copy the sound and said that you could follow that progression if you really listened for it in the early years. The Beatles progressed and changed a lot over time. They grew a lot more than the Stones. Sure the Stones have their own great sound but, they never really had the over all talent of the Beatles nor were they the tour de force in this culture the Beatles were.
