As classics go, I love 'Its a Wonderful Life' .. must've watched that one at least a dozen times. It's a perfect feel-good movie to watch with the family. Another favorite is Love Actually, which was a pretty cute flick that came out in 2003 with Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, and others.
( I also noticed Thanksgiving-themed Whats Cooking? on Jaman. The trailer looks pretty funny. Has anyone seen it, and what did you think? )

Hey Kelliec
I saw What's Cooking at a film fest a few years back - it was kinda great. The part I liked best was that it was four really different American families of different cultural backgrounds all celebrating a tradition in their own way. Totally funny and heartwarming but not too cheesy - you know?
Hey Kelliec - did you go through my Xmas movie catalogue? Those are the two movies I could watch over and over. In Love Actually, the scene when Emma Thompson in tears when found out she didn't get THE xmas gift she thought she would and Joni Mitchell's song "Both Sides Now" comes on gotta be the saddest part of the movie. Gonna listen to some Joni Mitchell now.
omg, Luan i totally know which scene you are talking about. that's the part where i go "that jerk! cheating on his wife for some cheap*ss hussy!" and then i break out into tears.
my favorite holiday movies are defintely those that Kelliec mentioned. Plus Elf and Home Alone (the first one). Oh and Rudolph (those old school cartoons. remember those?)
omg loved loved LOVED Elf, how could I forget to list that one? Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel are cute, loveable, hilarious. And yes, I remember old-school Rudolph! my dad's complained that he's had to watch it at least 20+ times while my sis' and I were growing up. I guess we kinda loved it as kids.
I'm glad to hear some people watched/enjoyed Love Actually. I think it got passed up a lot and that's a shame! And that scene you mentioned is totally where I fell in love with Emma Thompson as an actress! I definitely need to buy me a copy of that movie!
And thanks for the info emchy, I'll watch it and let you know what I think. I heard the cultural stereotypes are pretty funny and dead on, can't wait! :)
Because Kellie said she was not getting enough replies:
Home Alone, Elf, Love Actually, Starwars - which is really about a messiah character who is predestined to save the universe from the clutches of evil and also has an overbearing father so yes, it's just like Christmas
Not actually movies -- but my favorite holiday video is Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and The Grinch.
