Wow I have a lot of favorite moments, including when the US defeated the Soviet Union in men's ice hockey (1980), and watching Tanya Harding cry about her shoelace was very memorable... I also think I'll have MANY moments I won't forget from this year's Olympics. Is it my imagination, or are the Beijing Games particularly great as the Olympics go?

Ok Bolt last night in that race? OMG!!!!! That may be my new favorite moment. Though the disqualifications for silver and bronze were so sad making. :(

My favorite so far would have to be when Michael Phelps won his 7th gold medal. I mean, talk about extra effort paying off! That extra half stroke in the butterfly was what made the 100th of a second difference. It's totally a life lesson - you can't cruise to the end. ;)

And I agree with luckymoses above. These Olympic games seem to be much more exciting than usual. I've never heard so much talk about the athletes! Even the athletes themselves seem particularly more "into" the games like the US men's basketball team who are typically of the attitude "I'm too good for this."
