THE LAST LEAR::: Rituparno Ghosh directs, Bachchan gives career performance

Hi Everyone,

So just a few days ago on Sept 9, 2007 - KING LEAR had it's world premier at the Toronto Film Festival and opened to wonderful acclaim. The talk amongst the crowds is that this is in fact Amitabh Bachchan's greatest performance yet!

Now what strikes me as amazing is the fact that this man, Bachchan, can constantly churn out career performances - one better than the previous. Who would have really thought that after giving a spell-binding performance in BLACK, that this genius of an actor (mid 60s) would be able to out-do himself yet again within only a few years.

Well, that's what people are saying. The film is in English and is about a Shakespearean actor played by Amitabh Bachchan. The film has been directed by award winning director Rituparno Ghosh (see Raincoat and Chokher Bali on Jaman).

I just can't wait till this film makes its World Premier. If anyone has seen it - please post your thoughts!!
