Yeah, tough call! I haven't seen all of the movies Jaman has, but based on the ones I know, I'd choose Pahelii, because I think the people in the group who are unfamliar with Bollywood will find this one the easiest to "relate" to, in that some of the typical Bollywood ements that make it so special - singing and dancing, bright colors, elements of fantasy - are less jarring to non-familiar eyes because it's clearly set up not to be realistic, what with the talking puppets and a ghost. That was terribly awkwardly phrased, but you know what I mean. Paheli's extra layer of fantasy will give a more easily understandable context - suspension of disbelief is built in in the presentation of a fable.
Also, it's incredibly beautiful to watch, and it will introduce newbies to three big names: Rani, SRK, and Amitabh.
Great question Jamaninsta. Right now on Jaman we have a range of Hindi movies - some Bollywood (song and dance formula, melodramatic with the biggest names today) and other "Art" films (Chokher Bali, Raincoat, Black)
My favorite is award winning Umrao Jaan. Absolutely stunning, a piece of visual poetry. It is a beautiful film that just happens to be in Hindi. With critically acclaimed performances, exquisite set design and some of the most memorable music in Hindi cinema, Umrao Jaan is a world class film well worth watching and sharing.

That's a hard one to answer. But Umrao Jaan being the most classic of the films offered here I would go with it. Of the newer films it is hard to pick.
