OMG, this is absolutely hillarious. I was watching the show and on comes this guy. The surprising thing is that... he made it to the next round! It's exciting, and yet very embarrassing all at the same time... Check this out!!
There was some discussion among my blog friends about how this contestant was depicted - that is, he is shown pejoratively, and that whoever edited the show was spinning him into some sort of horrible immigrant stereotype.
That said, his dancing is totally enjoyable, though I don't think Hrithik has anything to worry about. For those who don't know the music he's dancing to, check out the original from the 2000 Hindi film hit Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, "Ek Pal Ka Jeena" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxEQo9SogmM
Yeah well, what I don't get is the two male judges vote him through three times, all the way to the semi-finals, in which he dances to Say Shava Shava (from K3G) with backup singers! Only to be humiliated...judges said things like "you have no talent whatsoever....no personality....etc etc."
Anyways, he made it to the semi-finals which is important, because now his fate isn't in just three judges' hands, but in the hands of the entire population.
Who knows what will happen. But yes, he frankly doesn't have any talent. But he is fun to watch! But the show is America's Got TALENT, not America's Got Charisma.
Good god, this 3 min 35 sec video accomplished something never seen before in the history of cinema: the blending of three genres --- comedy, horror, and Bollywood dance musical.
I was laughing in pain and peeping through fingers covering my face at this fellow's dance routine, as if I were watching the Exorcist, because I just didn't know what he was going to do next or what the reaction on the judges' faces would be. Ozzy's wife seemed genuinely to be enjoying herself.
I hafta wonder what happened to Kashif's career in the entertainment industry??
