Art film spotlight: Dharavi (1992)
I'd like to call attention to this excellent film by Sudhir Mishra, which is available here on Jaman. It's a fascinating slice-of-life in Bombay's Dharavi district - the largest slum in Asia. I was completely engaged by the window it offered into a world that is quite different from my own.

You can download *Dharavi* and read reviews of it (including my own) here:

Hey Carla. I love Sudhir Mishra's work, but for some reason I was postponing watching this film (I really don't know why). But now I will put it off no more!

I've actually been to the Dharavi district (more like passed through it), and it really is a totally different world. Looking forward to checking it out here on Jaman.

I can't believe Om Puri and Shabana Azmi are in this film. They look much younger but they play the role of slum dwellers brilliantly. I love how this film used Bollywood images - and scenes from some really popular films of that time, and everyone's infatuation with Madhuri - to really set the scene. Great opening.

Hi Clara, this me , Aung . Now I can join with Jaman and I eally enjoy this film. I usually enjoy Sudhir Mishra's film like this one and Kareene Starrer "Chameli" have you been watch his latest relase "Khoya Khoya Chand"? I feel this is disapointment. How about you?

This film Dharavi is really brilliant and I admire the admin of Jaman for the great collection of art films and I request more of Smita Patil like "Bhumika" and "Chakra" which are very rare in market today.
