Pixar's UP

Going to an advance screening of this tonight.

Given the tears of joy I shed just at the trailer before WATCHMEN, I fully expect that this'll be one of the great American movies of the year. I figure it'll be seen by a lot of us here on the site, so I'm opening this thread so we can talk about it.

Fun!

Just wrapped up a blog entry on the movie here , though as ever it's really hard to write about a movie that you don't want to spoil, especially when it draws such an emotional response.

At the screening I went to they needed to get more 3-D glasses, since previous wearers had screwed up the lenses by crying into them.

that was a beautiful blog post, thanks for sharing. i was a little hesitant after watching the trailer (and didn't see that much exciting about an old guy in house) but I can't wait to watch the movie myself now.

so I saw it and it was really good! but ... I wanted a hilarious adorably silly movie and I didn't really get that. In fact there was a pretty serious and sad undertone, and in that same vein, the bad guy wasn't much fun, he was just creepy. so .. I'd definitely still recommend it, it's whimsical and beautiful to watch, but be prepared for something a little different than the past Pixar movies we've seen.

i've heard some really good things about the movie. it is definitely supposed to be deep but i also heard it was supposed to be funny. i guess it's all in the eye of the beholder...or the watcher...
