The newest film in the ever-increasing series of Batman films has filled me with mounting excitement... and not because Heath Ledger is dead, as the case seems to be with many, many others.
When Batman Begins hit the scene, I was thrilled-- Joel Schumaker had taken Batman into a bright/colorful/crappy direction (which differed from Tim Burton's vision in painful ways), and I was in the mood for the broody Batman I knew and loved. Which is exactly what I got with Christopher Nolan's interpretation of my favorite comic book hero, but with a dash of realism I didn't expect and immediately loved. Combine that with actors you wouldn't normally expect in a superhero movie, and you've got yourself a hit.
I mean, tell me that doesn't look like a good movie! THEN, compare it to THIS and tell me it doesn't look like a good movie. Bless you, Christopher Nolan!
Wow. I'm certain I won't be seeing it on opening night (I'll hopefully be able to avoid unnecessary spoilers) but I'll see it as soon as I can. Crowded theaters are not my friend. I tend to enjoy my movie-watching experience with room for my elbows on either side.
AND, that Michael Bay thing was hilarious. What if, indeed...
i saw DARK KNIGHT i didn't really like it... somehow it was a little too long for me.... i kept on wondering when it would end... D: but other than that it was a cool movie.... in my opinion Heath Ledger was the best actor to ever play the Joker!!!
While I was completely enraptured by the whole movie, I agree-- Ledger's performance as the Joker was the best I've seen. I was always fond of Nicholson's Joker, but never as impressed as I was with Ledger's. He added a whole new level of psycho to the character and I appreciate it greatly.
