Commercial Director

Jaman has become the leading site for enjoying and sharing international and independent movies worldwide. The next stage of our success will be directly be related to the strength our advertising network. We are seeking a results-oriented and energetic individual with demonstrated experience of online ad sales, to lead and build a team of sales and other professionals focused on all aspects of advertising sales and account management. This is a senior position reporting directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building a first-rate advertising services operation with a strong customer service ethic.
  • Responsible for partnerships and managing relationships with our US advertising management platform provider.
  • Lead business development and own the revenue expectations through sales of online sponsorships and ad inventory on the Jaman.com web site and application.
  • Lead and manage Jaman's relationships with advertising and marketing agencies.
  • Own and improve our partner reporting system to better meet advertisers needs.
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders (Business Development, Product, Marketing and Engineering) to communicate partner requests and ensure the delivery of services as promised.
  • Develop strategic, creative campaign ideas, proposals & presentations.
  • Maintain regular and comprehensive communication with management including the consistent delivery of status reports and revenue pipeline.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in business development selling online advertising.
  • Strong understanding of the online media and advertising industries.
  • Proven track record at business planning and achieving measurable goals.
  • Industry experience and contacts within the ad networks, agencies, local search providers, search engines and content portals a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated record of success in a goal oriented, highly accountable sales environment.
  • Strong analytical background, using metrics to identify and prioritize issues.
  • Outstanding coordination and communication skills, including the ability to effectively work across functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and excellent self-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, presentation skills.

Online Business Development Director

Jaman is a destination for people to discover, enjoy and review movies from around the world. Jaman's internet community is pioneering the social aspects of independent and international film and we provide filmmakers and studios a secure way to distribute and market films worldwide. Jaman's global network delivers movies in high-def quality to Macs, PCs or home entertainment systems via our proprietary P2P player.

The Online Business Development Director will report to the VP of Corporate Development and will be responsible for developing and executing our online, portal, community and ISP strategies. In addition to being high energy the ideal candidate will have a profound understanding and demonstrable successes in a consumer internet business development environment. The ability to manage many partnerships, a strong knack for marketing and familiarity with contracts are essential.

We are looking for self-starters who can work in a rapidly changing industry, tolerate ambiguity, demonstrate problem-solving skills and are comfortable with limited oversight. Experience in a technology-driven industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage business development and sales relationships with online partners
  • Create business development offers and execute through to launch
  • Rally partners around product proposals to post-execution user acquisition targets
  • Take partnerships that have been negotiated and increase user acquisition and engagement
  • Assist marketing and product development in go to market activities for partnerships
  • Provide feedback to product development on requirements
Requirements:
  • Ability to source, negotiate, and close business relationships with large and complex partners
  • At least 5 years of sales, marketing and business development experience
  • Knowledge and experience with consumer internet in BD role
  • Hard-working, entrepreneurial spirit, understanding of startups
  • Graduate degree from a leading business school, CS or engineering program
  • Passionate about start ups and movies
  • Sense of humor
