BAAZIGAR is a crime thriller/drama par excellence that shocked and thrilled Indian audiences with its violation of the usual formula Bollywood film. Ajay Sharma (Shah Rukh Khan), a bespectacled college student and a good son, is in a secret romantic engagement with Seema Chopra. Vicky Malhotra, a glamorous race car driver (also played by Shahrukh Khan), is wooing Priya Chopra – Seema’s younger sister. Both girls are the daughters of a rich industrialist. Kajol had lots of trouble with the "Mera Dil Tha Akela" part in the song, Baazigar O Baazigar, because she felt the emotions on the script were extremely exaggerated. Shahrukh Khan then helped her by jokingly pinching her and she "learned" how to act the part properly.
