I like Zhang Yimou 张艺谋 films: To Live and Red Sorghum. I liked Shanghai Dreams by WANG Xiaoshuai 王小帅 and think I would like his film, Beijing Bicycle, although I have never seen it. Each year, I attend the Seattle International Film Festival and the Arab and Iranian film festival.

My favorite book writer is Cormac McCarthy, but I don't think his books would make good films. Akira Kurosawa is one of my favorite film-makers.

I live in Seattle much of the year, and in China for about 5 months. I have time to do the things I want to do such as learn Chinese, backpack in the North Cascades, learn/write about ospreys, advocate for the natural environment. I am a mother of a 32 year old very normal person.
