A single dress changes hands from one woman to another, from all walks of life, rich and poor. In this way, director Alex van Warmerdam ingeniously creates a vast social canvas that's as lust-filled and comedic as it is richly perceptive, baring naked an entire spectrum of modern Dutch society.
