"Though the film hardly intends to discourage aid to disaster zones, it is highly critical of the way local governments handle crises" -- Variety
Dhruv Dhavan's sharp-eyed and vigilant documentary focuses on the plight of survivors of the 2004 Asian tsunami, residing along Sri Lanka's coast and rendered homeless. We witness a fisherman and a businessman, both trying to re-build their homes but blocked by absurd government restrictions on new beach-front construction. Meanwhile, an Australian aid worker expresses his frustration with the authorities who've stonewalled relief efforts. The reasons for this uproar will shock you, and point to the sometimes profit-obsessed and perverted side of globalization.
